Polaris is the Minneapolis-based parent company of Victory Motorcycles and Indian Motorcycle, along with Polaris brand side-by-side all-terrain off-road vehicles, snowmobiles, Slingshot three-wheeled on-road vehicles and several parts, garments and accessories brands.
In announcing the winding down of Victory, Polaris said that the brand struggled to establish the market share needed to be profitable, with competitive pressures increasing headwinds for the brand.
The fact that Victory’s don’t have a high resale value can be a good thing. You can buy a used Victory which is just as good as a new one for a fraction of the price and you still have a bike that can hold its own or surpass anything else on the market.

Polaris surprised the industry in January when it announced that it would shut its homegrown motorcycle brand, Victory, and focus entirely on Indian, a company it bought in 2011. So far, the move seems like a smart one.
All the really mechanically essential parts are pretty easily obtainable. The aftermarket for the bikes is definitely drying up, though. The bikes are so well engineered that for the most part, they just run.

Who owns Triumph today? Triumph Motorcycles Limited, the company, is a 100% privately owned company. Our parent company is called Bloor Holdings Limited, which is owned by John Bloor. The spirit of Triumph, however, belongs to you, the rider.
In 2011, Polaris acquired the iconic Indian Motorcycle brand, which had been revived after production ceased in both 1953 and again in 2003. Polaris currently assembles both Indian and Victory bikes at its Spirit Lake plant, which will now double down on the Indian brand.
They are good bikes, especially the new Octane. It is definitely a collector bike. And they still have the backing for the next 10 years of parent company Polaris Industries, an industrial giant. … making their bikes more valuable as collector items.
On 9 January 2017, parent company Polaris Industries issued a press release announcing that they would immediately begin winding down operations of Victory Motorcycles due to struggles in establishing market share and limited profitability. The brand itself would also be discontinued.

In 1970, Harley produced the XR-750, shown above, a new Sportster-based entry for AMA Class C racing. In 1981, 13 Harley execs bought their company back from AMF. And in 2011, Polaris Industries bought Indian. All has been well with both companies since.
Indian Motorcycle is owned by Polaris Industries and Polaris has a factory in Opole, Poland where it makes some of its off-road vehicles. … As of this writing, Indian Motorcycle still does all of its production in the U.S. which is a point of pride for many of its riders and employees.
