Usually $40 gets me about 9 gallons of gas, but lately I’ve been having to run pretty close to empty due to an extra bill I’ve been paying off the past 3 months. So usually from about an 1/8 of a tank I end up with just shy of a 1/2 a tank with $40. Usually takes about $75-80 to fill up my truck.

If you open the fuel flap of your car and it says ‘unleaded petrol only’ it means 91 octane fuel is OK. … However, it’s not acceptable to put in a lower octane fuel than the minimum recommended by the manufacturer. Using 91 in an engine designed for 95 or 98 is potentially destructive.
Generally, you’ll find standard unleaded in Australia is 91 RON, premium options are 95 or 98 RON, and then E10 (the 10 just means it contains 10% ethanol, which is basically an alcohol made by fermenting biomass rather than from crude oil) is 94 or 95 RON.
There’s no harm in using super unleaded, even if high octane isn’t recommended. But you’re unlikely to detect any benefit unless your car specifically requires it – normally very high-performance and some imported vehicles. … All cars sold in the UK will run on regular 95 RON petrol.
Most average tank size of a car can carry something between 45 and 65 liters. However, SUVs and trucks have larger tanks while the size is smaller for the Nano cars. According to popular belief, Tuesdays and Sundays are the cheapest days to buy petrol, while Thursdays and Fridays are best avoided. However, this is not always the case and prices can fluctuate wildly from week-to-week. It therefore pays to do some actual research.
Cars have better gas mileage the fuller the gas tank. As the tank empties out, more and more gas will vaporize to fumes to fill up the volume of the tank above the liquid. That means you have less and less gas to burn.
UK petrol prices have hit their highest level on record in a blow to hard-hit households and small businesses, and could rise further in the coming weeks as the global energy crisis drives oil markets to a three-year high.
Fundamentally, the answer is yes. Supermarket fuel usually comes from the same refineries as the big brands, and will have the same basic chemical makeup. … The likes of BP, Esso and Shell will usually add a wide range of special additives to their own fuels in order to improve efficiency and performance.
Why are petrol prices so high in the UK? The main reason is the jump in crude prices worldwide (in January the price was just over $50 a barrel and in October it pushed over $86), but this is not the only factor affecting petrol prices in the UK. In September the UK switched to E10 petrol in an effort to be greener.
Mixing RON95 and RON97 does not have any detrimental effect as long as the fuels meet or exceed the minimum RON required by the engine. … It also sells V-Power Racing, a top-end fuel, which it would only described as having a RON rating “above RON97”.
Generally, fuels with a higher octane rating (e.g. RON97) are used in high-compression engines that have higher performance. Higher octane fuels are used for motor vehicles with higher compression ratio. As a general guideline, RON97 is usually recommended for motor vehicles with an engine capacity 2,500cc and above.
The higher petrol’s octane, the more it can be compressed in the engine’s cylinder before detonating. In basic terms, the more the fuel can be compressed, the bigger the bang and the better the performance. Regular fuels have a RON of 95. However, premium fuels are 97 or 98 RON.
