Automaker Ford Motor has restarted production of its top-selling F-150 full-size pickup truck after weeks of shutdowns. Ford’s Dearborn truck plant in Michigan and its Kansas City assembly plant in Missouri–both of which produce the steel-and-aluminum-intensive F-150–restarted operations yesterday, Ford said.
Reuters says Ford will plan to build 55,000 Lightnings in 2023, then 80,000 in 2024. The Lightning is scheduled for a redesign for 2025, after which point Ford hopes to be selling 160,000 EV pickups each year.
