The new Juke’s 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) offers a smooth and reactive drive.
Nissan Juke: in detail
> Performance and 0-60mph time – Nismo RS is predictably quickest, reaching 62mph in seven seconds. 1.5 diesel and 1.2 turbo are a nice performance and economy compromise.
The Nissan Juke SUV was one of the first small crossovers on the market. It has a raised driving position but is car-like to drive. … Just one Juke is offered with four-wheel drive, meaning all other models are best left on road, rather than off it.
The Juke has quirky styling, a slightly sporty interior and driving modes that help you either drive economically or hit those twisty country roads with gusto. It’s well suited to the urban environment but it’s also very capable of making regular long journeys.
The Juke has been the subject of seven recalls, with potential faults ranging from possible fuel leaks to oxygen sensor problems, so it’s worth speaking to a Nissan dealer to check that any car you’re interested in buying has had the necessary work carried out.
The Juke is gender-neutral, with muscular fenders, sloping roof and 370Z-like tails, but “cute” bug-eye lamps and, to some people, a smiling grill. The last-gen New Beetle had a built in flower holder, now that’s girly.
It’s not a calm ride, though, and jostles around over any little bumps in town or on faster roads. Sticking with the smaller 16in or 17in alloy wheels offers the best comfort, but even they can’t make the Juke as easy-going as the really cosseting cars in the class, such as the Skoda Kamiq and Volkswagen T-Roc.
A great car at a good price. The Nissan Juke offers a big car feel at an affordable price. The 1.6L 16v engine is powerful enough to keep out of trouble yet economical and fuel efficient. Overall a nice drive.
It’s a type of car problem that’s not hard to notice. Nissan Juke transmission problems can present themselves as shifting delays, jumping or grinding during acceleration, the car shaking at any speed, or whistling noises and a burning smell coming from under the hood.
A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard, and a six-speed manual transmission is optional on SV and SL trims with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional on all models.
The 2017 Juke comes standard with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 188 horsepower. Front-wheel drive and a CVT, which acts like an automatic, are also standard. All-wheel drive is optional. NISMO models have a standard six-speed manual transmission, and the CVT is optional.
Not in terms of reliability or fuel economy or value—but for sheer ugliness. Readers at Car Throttle voted the Juke into its “Top 10 Ugliest Cars Ever Made” lists, and a Motor Trend forum gave the Juke the Ugliest Car Award. … Nissan will take those kinds of results over a “pretty” car that’s a sales dud any day.
Nissan service costs for the Juke are average, with a minor service costing £199 or £229 (petrol and diesel respectively) and a major service bring a little more costly at £279 or £329.
It has not been a very good year for snow but I have been through 6 – 7 inches and barely paid it any mind. In the cabin you will not really feel wheel slip because the AWD system does such a good job and the juke is pretty well balanced to provide traction.
The petrol engine isn’t desperately economical either. It boasts a best of 35.8mpg with the hard-to-recommend CVT automatic gearbox, but with the manual gearbox and the largest 18-inch wheels this drops to a below-par 33.6mpg.
Sunderland
It is based on the Nissan B platform. The Sunderland plant (NMUK) manufactures for the European market, Australia and New Zealand, while Nissan’s facility in Oppama, Japan, produces the vehicle for all other countries.
The Nissan JUKE comes standard equipped with a timing chain in the gasoline powered engine. The diesel model, however, has a cambelt, or belt. This belt will need to be inspected and possibly replaced every 5 years, or 90,000 miles, whichever happens to occur first.
Common reasons for this to happen: Defective fuel pump or filter: Since the fuel pump is responsible for supplying your vehicle with fuel, it can cause a loss of power when it begins to wear out or when the in-tank filter becomes clogged and prevents the free flow of fuel.
Recall no. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Nissan Juke Nismo RS vehicles. Due to a problem within the brake master cylinder, brake fluid may leak into the brake booster, reducing brake performance.

2018 Nissan Kicks
However, Nissan is rolling out the 2018 Nissan Kicks, which will take the place of the Nissan Juke. It’s time to take a closer look at these vehicles to see what new changes and decisions Nissan made when they decided to replace the Juke with the all-new 2018 Nissan Kicks.
Juke-R
Though we’re disappointed with the lack of weight savings, the Juke-R can still get going well enough. Nissan reports the car achieved 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds in UK testing, and is capable of a 160-mph top speed. Nissan says these numbers make the Juke-R the world’s fastest crossover.Jan 10, 2012
